Forgiving is Instantaneous
Just as I cautioned Birungi at the park, beware of claims that forgiving takes time. In fact, to the contrary, forgiveness happens the instant you make up your mind to pardon a person…; forgiveness flows once you let it.
“What if after declaring that I have forgiven today, I revert to the same old bitter feelings tomorrow?” one may ask. Remember that feelings do not define who you are. Rather, people define you based on your responses. Therefore, do not pamper your feelings by letting them dictate your conduct. Let your offender read ‘forgiveness’ through your actions.
